Research Competition Winners Announced!

Badges Competition Timeline

September 15, 2011:	Competition announcement and launch.
November 14, 2011, 5pm PST:	Badges Competition Stage 1 submissions due.
November 30, 2011:	Announcement of Badges Stage 1 winners.
December 5, 2011, 5pm PST:	Teacher Mastery and Feedback Competition Stage 1 submissions due.
December 12, 2011:	Stage 2 opens for Badges for Lifelong Learning Competition and Teacher Mastery and Feedback Competition.
January 17, 2012, 5pm PST:	Stage 2 submissions due for Badges for Lifelong Learning Competition and Teacher Master and Feedback Competition.
February 1-27, 2012:	Stage 3 teams meet on their own to start to finalize the proposal.
February 28-29, 2012:	Finals: Stage 3 teams finalize and pitch proposals before panel of judges. The California Academy of Sciences in Golden Gate park will be hosting the 2012 DML Competition finals on February 28th and 29th, when Competition finalists will gather together to develop their projects and pitch them to a panel of expert judges. The California Academy of Sciences is a world-class scientific and cultural institution to explore, explain and protect the natural world. The Academy houses an aquarium, a planetarium a natural history museum and a 4-story rainforest all under one roof.
March 1-3, 2012:	2012 Digital Media and Learning Conference, San Francisco.
March 1, 2012:	Announcement of Competition winners.
March 2013 (dates TBD):	2013 Digital Media and Learning Conference. Winners are expected to attend. (Travel funds to be in submitted budget).

This HASTAC competition is supported by a grant from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation to the University of California, in collaboration with Duke University. The University of California Humanities Research Institute and Duke University's John Hope Franklin Humanities Institute are the principal administering bodies for this grant on behalf of HASTAC.
